MS Media Center

Each quarter Ms. Stewart creates a new reading list of the latest books that she recommends which are available in the Media Center. There is a list specifically for students in Grades 5 & 6, and another for students in Grades 7 & 8. The most current list can also be found on Destiny the Library Catalogue in the Resource List category.

In addition to this are the lists designed for parents. These lists feature resources available in the Parenting Section of the MSMC, and topics related to sessions held for Parent Coffee sessions in conjunction with the Guidance Department. There are now lists on school transition, raising girls, and raising boys, puberty, issues related to adolescence, how to help students deal with anxiety and stress, as well as books focused on homework and study techniques.

The MSMC is open Monday to Friday from 7.00 am until 4.00 pm. We are open every recess and lunch. The library is a great place to visit. You can browse and borrow, work on a project, get help with research, explore databases and print your work.

All middle school students can borrow up to ten items from the ISM Media Centers. In the MSMC books and magazines can be borrowed for two weeks, and then renewed for a further two weeks. DVDs can be borrowed for one week at a time.
